(1) how mobile industry companies collect location data, why they use and share these data, and how this affects consumers;The GAO recommends that mobile industry companies adopt a variety of practices, enforce their policies consistently, and implement certain safeguards to protect the data. Additionally, employees must be held accountable for policy breaches. Action was also recommended for the FTC, FCC, and Department of Commerce.
